During some changeable weather on Sunday 24th July 2022 (x3) Royal Canadian Airforce CF188 Hornets (188739/188760/188787) accompanied by their supporting Airbus CC150 Polaris Tanker (15005) arrived at Prestwick from CFB Bagotville. Québec. The aircraft are expected to stay at Prestwick for a day or two before departing onwards to a deployment in Europe.
The arrival of these aircraft brought the total amount of CF188 Hornets currently at Prestwick to 8 with the first five aircraft arriving the previous night with a RCAF CP140 Aurora and a Meta KC135 as support.
Just as the Canadian aircraft arrived we were also graced by the arrival of a USAF C17-A Globemaster III (02-1098) as using callsign RCH415.
The weather in the evening was particularly changeable with a heavy rain down pour just prior to the aircraft arrival, although this gave some nice water spray on touch down.
