On Saint David's Day 1991, 8-year-old Prince William carried out his first ever public engagement. The Prince visted Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff before going to St David's Hall. On the same day, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales flew in to RAF Brawdy to meet with wives and partners of those serving in the Persian Gulf. The Gulf War had ended only one day before.
