On January 13, 2014 Lyle Borders sat down and told of his experiences in the Vietnam War. Lyle was a helicopter pilot with B Troop, 7th Squadron of the 1st Air Cavalry. He was involved in the Lam Son 719 operation into Laos, provided air support for operations into Cambodia and flew missions in the Mekong Delta. In this clip from his full interview, Lyle tells about being hit in the leg on June 21, 1971 while flying a mission. He would lose part of that leg as a result.
