U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bombers takeoff from Barksdale Air Force Base, LA during a bomber task force mission over the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility on January 26, 2021. The USCENTCOM area of responsibility includes Afghanistan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Yemen. The B-52 is a long-range, heavy bomber that is capable of flying at high subsonic speeds of altitudes of up to 50,000 feet and provides the United States with a global strike capability of both conventional bombs and missiles, plus nuclear bombs and missiles. This was just an exercise, a demonstration.
