Tensions grew as China's military simulated precision strikes against Taiwan continued into a second day of drills around the island.

This time, it sent dozens of war planes and ships to simulate an encirclement of Taiwan.

Beijing called it a "stern warning" after Taiwan's president visited the U.S., strengthening ties between the self-governing island to the West.

As Redmond Shannon reports, drills are expected to continue until Monday, as fears of a much larger conflict loom between global superpowers.
