In the context of the recent evolution of the EU’s climate targets for 2030, the Franco-German Office for the Energy Transition invited you to attend a webinar on: EU Climate Targets for 2030 - ambitions and realities
Discussions about climate change mitigation have been omnipresent over the past years, especially after COP 21 in Paris in 2015. More recently, the European Commission issued new climate targets, most prominently that of carbon neutrality until 2050. While the commitment to achieve these is reflected by the National Climate and Energy Plans (NECPs), they are surrounded by a vivid debate: While some voices claim that the planned actions will proof insufficient, others state their belief that the current path is not ambitious enough. This webinar aimed to provide an impression of two, apparently diverging analyses and try to analyse whether the positions are in fact diverging.
