The first batch production multi-role fifth-generation fighter jet, the Sukhoi-57, has been delivered to the regiment in the Southern Military District, said sources at the Russian defense industrial complex.
The Air Force has acquired the first batch of Sukhoi-57s. The aircraft was dispatched to a regiment in the Military Southern district, the source said, adding that another four jets would be made available to the Air Force in 2021.
On December 7, the CEO of the Rostec company, Sergey Chemezov, said that the Sukhoi-57 produced in the first series with a first-stage engine would be made available to the Russian military by the end of 2020.
The first Sukhoi-57 fighter aircraft, equipped with a second-stage engine, will be assembled in 2022.
