Four Norwegian F-35 were put on alert to intercept the unidentified aircraft over Iceland

Air Missions to Iceland are given periodically by NATO member countries for three to four weeks at a time.

The Norwegian Air Force F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft has just completed a NATO deployment aimed at securing Icelandic airspace.

Four F-35s are on standby ready to be scrambled if an unidentified aircraft approaches Icelandic airspace and this is the second time.

This is the second time that Norway has sent fifth-generation fighter jets to cover Icelandic airspace from intruders by unidentified aircraft.
