Episode 3: Icy Strait Point, AK

Whales. Oysters. Gondolas. Views.

As we made our way into Alaska, the water color started changing and the beautiful snow-capped mountains began to appear. Our first stop was Icy Strait Point. We did a whale watching excursion and saw whales, sea otters, bald eagles and a bear strolling along the beach. Afterwards, we walked around the port, ate some delicious locally-harvested oysters and snow crab and smoked salmon chowder, then rode the gondola up for a bird’s eye view. Icy Strait Point is a really nice port!
