Das Lufttransportgeschwader 63 aus Hohn, bei Rendsburg in Schleswig-Holstein, ist das letzte Geschwader in Deutschland, dass noch die C-160 Transall fliegt - doch auch damit ist Ende 2021 Schluß. Daher wurde die Maschine mit der Nummer 50+40 ein letztes Mal für eine "Goodbye Tour" schick gemacht und bekam die "Retro Brummel" Lackierung - eine Hommage an alle möglichen Facetten des deutschen Lufttransportes seit 1968 und an die "Brummel" als Wappentier des Geschwaders, das gleichzeitig mit dem Ende der C-160 Transall aufgelöst wird...

Vielen herzlichen Dank an die Presse- & Öffentlichkeitsabteilung des LTG 63 für die Genehmigung, die Videos hier zu posten! Ich bin meinem Heimatverband (2005 - 2015) sehr dankbar dafür und gleichzeitig sehr traurig über dessen Ende. Trotzdem ist diese Transall der beste Abgang, den man sich für diesen Verband nur wünschen kann! Alles Gute an alle Kameraden dort!

This is the Making Of about the special finish of the C-160 Transall!

The Air Transport Wing 63 in Hohn, north of Hamburg in Germany, is the last squadron flying the C-160 Transall in Germany - but this is about to end at the end of the year 2021. So the airplane number 50+40 was chosen as the last one to do a "Goodbye Tour" and got a new special finish - the "Retro Brummel" ("Brummel" is the heraldic animal of the squadron, a bumblebee). It's a hommage to all facettes of german military air cargo transport since 1968 and to the squadron, which is also being closed with the last C-160 Transall leaving...

Many thanks to the public affairs department of the squadron for allowing me to post these videos here on my channel! I'm really thankful to my old squadron (2005 - 2015) and also very sad about it's end. But this special finish of the Transall is the best way to say goodbye - I wish all comrades the very best in the future!
