For the second time after 2020, the Norwegian Air Force will deploy their F-35 fighter aircraft to execute NATO’s mission in Iceland to provide intercept capabilities for the Ally in the High North. The mission will last throughout March 2021.
The deployment will involve 24/7 readiness for the F-35 pilots to be launched by NATO's northern Combined Air Operations Centre at Uedem, Germany. For Norway this is good preparation and practice for the Quick Reaction Alert mission that the F-35s will fly out of Evenes from 2022 on.
