A team of Reservist Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) are in Moenchengladbach, Germany, tasked with reviving Army vehicles kept there in storage - in some cases for years.
It should have been a routine two-week exercise at the Army's Stored Equipment Fleet for 128 Divisional Support Company, making 60 vehicles parked for years roadworthy.
But the tone has now shifted into "more than just an exercise", after the company, just two days after leaving Portsmouth for Germany, received the news that Russian troops invaded Ukraine.
