The waters of the Black Sea have turned cloudy and brown due to mud streams from flooding in coastal areas, as seen in smartphone footage shot from a plane in Sochi, on Monday.
Almost an average month of precipitation fell each day in the Krasnodar Territory since Sunday, causing the water level in several rivers in the area to reach critical levels. Several highways and buildings were flooded.

According to Krasnodar officials, 30 households were affected by the flood, but no lives are at risk.
According to Sochi Mayor Alexei Kopaygorodsky, 250 people who were previously evacuated have now returned home.

A storm warning is in effect in the resort region from Sunday. City services have already begun cleaning up the resulting damage from the flood. At the moment, 742 people are involved in the work, using 329 pieces of equipment.
