Hey guys! taking a look back down memory lane from what feels like years ago but was just the beginning of the year. I was out on a work trip in Houston for a few days but got very sick the first day getting there. It wasn't until I arrived back at my house shortly after this landing that I realized I had been infected with COVID-19. Even though I was not able to really enjoy my time in Houston, you know I'll always take the opportunity to get on a plane especially if it's getting paid for. ;) Haha. Anyways, enjoy this landing from the East as we come over downtown Miami and land on Runway 26R after the 2 hour flight from William P. Hobby Airport!
Fun fact: Southwest started flying to Miami in November of 2020 during the covid pandemic when travelers were still treading lightly on aircraft but did not see much business travel coming in and out of many major airports such as MIA. A spike in leisure travel grew and Southwest started daily flights to 4 cities on 11/15/2020 to Baltimore, MD (BWI), Chicago-Midway, IL (MDW), Houston-Hobby, TX (HOU), and Tampa, FL (TPA). Afterwards, more lost cost carriers came to join the scene in Miami with the addition of jetBlue and then finally Spirit Airlines at the end of the year in 2021.
