I am starting to make a card model of a curved city hotel for my N gauge model railway layout, Chandwell. In this video I show how I started the model by building the frontage and adding the first part of the hotel's structure. By making the card model from three separate wedges, I can gradually build up the overall shape before I then add the fine details which will make the model come to life.

This is Chandwell - a model of a fictional run-down Yorkshire town in 1993, and this is Station Road - a road of card models, all build from scratch based on real buildings in and around Bradford.

This curved hotel is based on The Crescent Hotel in Ilkley, but once you see it in Chandwell it will look a little different!
