Op Pitting which saw thousands evacuated from Afghanistan last year, threw Military Aviation Protection Officers or 'MAPOs' into the spotlight.
MAPOs are responsible for ensuring safety on board military aircraft and must be ready to deal with everything from nervous or disruptive passengers, to hijackings and bombs.
There are 136 ‘MAPOs’ currently trained in the country.
