The F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation, single-seat, single-engine, #stealth-capable fighter aircraft developed by Lockheed Martin. The F-35 is being produced in three variants: the conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) F-35A for the U.S. Air Force, the short takeoff and vertical-landing (STOVL) F-35B for the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.K. Royal Navy, and the carrier-based F-35C for the U.S. Navy.

RAF Lakenheath is a Royal Air Force (RAF) station located in Lakenheath, Suffolk, England. The station is home to the #48thFighterWing of the United States Air Force (#USAF), which operates the #F-35A Lightning II.
