A report claimed that the Dragon Lady had participated in the Ukrainian overwatch. Nearly every day, one or two U-2s belonging to the 99th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron (ERS) have been taking off from RAF Fairford in the UK and heading east. The spy plane based at RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus with the 1st ERS has also been busy. Russia's activities in Ukraine have not escaped the attention of the United States and NATO through intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft such as U-2 Dragon Lady.
