The leading news of the day; Ukrainian Army Continues to Destroy Russians in The Severodonetsk Region!

According to the latest update from the American Institute for the Study of War, on June 5, Ukrainian armed forces continued to conduct limited and localized but successful counterattacks against Russian troops throughout Ukraine, including in Severodonetsk, where Russia is concentrating the majority of its forces.

Ukraine's military are likely to leverage Russia's ongoing focus on Severodonetsk to launch counterattacks in other locations.

Russian soldiers and equipment are still being deployed in the Severodonetsk-Lysychansk region. Nonetheless, Ukrainian soldiers have launched a successful counteroffensive in Severodonetsk during the last 48 hours, driving Russian troops to the city's eastern boundaries and away from southern suburbs.

Ukraine's counteroffensive is expected to keep Russian soldiers focused on Luhansk Oblast, leaving gaps in Russia's defensive operations in Kharkiv Oblast and along the southern axis, according to ISW

According to the researchers, the capacity of Ukrainian soldiers to effectively counterattack Severodonetsk, the Kremlin's current priority area of operation, also suggests a diminution in Russian military might in Ukraine.
