South Korea's military said it conducted joint air drills with the U.S. involving stealth fighters on Friday, to boost the ability to mount joint operations amid North Korea's nuclear and missile threats.

South Korea carried out combined drills in the sky over the Yellow Sea with American F-16CM aircrafts and F-22 stealth fighters, as well as F-35 jets from both countries, the South Korean Air Force said in a statement.

North Korea said Thursday that drills by the United States and its allies have reached an "extreme red line" and threaten to turn the peninsula into a "huge war arsenal and a more critical war zone." (Reuters)
