VMFA-242 Field Carrier Landing Practice

A U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II aircraft with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 242 conducts a vertical landing during field carrier landing practice (FCLP) at Ie Shima, Japan.

The F-35, which has been operational since July of 2015, is the most lethal, survivable, and interoperable fighter aircraft ever built.
