Imagine if Germany had aircraft carriers as the Japanese did. Mainland USA would be threatened. Germany did have one aircraft carrier in WW2 though it was never operational. Regardless, one German long range Junkers made it to Detroit and New York, returning to France. This was a wake-up call!
