Why didn’t Biden fly a military plane to his inauguration?

Among the skepticism regarding Biden’s inauguration, one point I’m seeing repeated is his method of transportation to that inauguration.

Why did Biden fly a private jet rather than a military plane, and how does that reflect the legitimacy of his inauguration and presidency?

It is customary for the previous administration to offer a military plane to transport the incoming president. Prior to being sworn-in the president is technically a citizen and cannot summon military transport, so as an act of good faith the previous administration typically offers such transport. The Trump administration chose not to provide one likely for public optics. This is different from Biden being outright denied due to legitimacy of the election.

Biden originally intended to take a train as a nod to his usual mode of transport earlier in his career, but changed to a plane due to security concerns.

As it turns out, there is no rule anywhere that says the incoming president needs to travel in some specific fashion to the inauguration.

I don’t expect to change anyone’s belief that the election was fraudulent, that’s for another video, but hopefully we can agree that using private transportation to his inauguration does not specifically invalidate bidens presidency.
