‘Carnage at Crimean airbase including a blitzed Putin Su 24M attack warplane'

Carnage caused by explosions including a destroyed Su-24M attack aircraft is seen in a video believed to be from a Russian airfield in annexed Crimea.

More footage is believed to show wrecked cars from a series of explosions at the military base.

The East2West news agency reports that up to 15 explosions hit the Novofedorivka site near the town of Saki, home to Russia's 43rd Air Regiment.

Their report claims that the footage appears to show massive damage consistent with a major attack even if the cause remains unclear.

It adds that Russia has insisted the explosions were caused by ammunition explosions.
