Afghan Army tank rumbles down the streets of Kabul city

What is the environmental cost of war? Look at those diesel emissions from the guzzler of a tank! Surely no one has checked that Soviet-era battle tank for Euro 4 mission norms...

So inured are the Afghanis to this daily scene of tension that they barely give a sideways glance to the passing tank.

Can you imagine the reaction such a tank would have got in Paris or New York???



How often does one see a battle tank stop at a traffic signal for cars to go the other way? Yet another day in the life of strife-torn Kabul.

The tank passes Melad / Milad restaurant (which could still well be in operation somewhere in Kabul). The tank maneuvers itself through traffic in this most ungainly sight and the chap sitting in the middle with his head popping out looks a little ungainly too! Kids run behind the tank after the Afghan cops stop the tank and issue it a traffic ticket!
