A US defence official has confirmed that all US and NATO troops left the biggest air base in Afghanistan. The US military and NATO are in the final stages of winding up their ground presence in Afghanistan. The withdrawal of the foreign forces and the looming threat of a Taliban takeover compelled them to raise their own forces. While Taliban remains the dominant outfit, several militant groups are defending their own regional fiefdoms.
