This week in Africa Weekly, Burkina Faso suffers its worst massacre since the country's jihadist insurgency began in 2015. In Mali, military strongman Colonel Goita swears in as new president of the country's transition period. In Nigeria, the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has died by suicide after a raid on his headquarters by rival group ISWAP. Also in Nigeria, the government has suspended access to Twitter, sparking anger among the young population. Lastly, we head to the Ivory Coast, where pressure is mounting on the country to fight against the use of child labour on its cocoa plantations.
