This is Part 3 of our 4-part miniseries on Op Cactus, a swift and effective action featuring the Indian Air Force, Army and Navy, to help foil a coup in the Maldives, India's small island neighbour to the South West.

In Part 1 we covered the initial call for help from Male, and the discussions and planning that happened in New Delhi.

In Part 2 we covered the happenings on the ground leading up to the Para soldiers getting airborne, and how the INS Betwa set sail from Kochi.

In this episode, Part 3, we cover the flight to, and landing in, Male, and how the Paras went into action.

Part 4 will deal with the chase on the high seas, apprehending of the rebels and freeing of hostages.
