Tuesday, 14 September 2021, 5 pm to 6 pm (Eastern Standard Time)
A virtual panel of foreign policy experts

Join the CIC National Capital Branch, on Tuesday 14 September 2021, from 5 pm to 6 pm (Eastern Time), for this flagship event and 2021/22 season launch to discuss Canadian diplomacy’s past, present and future, with a distinguished panel of foreign policy experts: Senator Peter Boehm, and Pamela Isfeld, President of the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO). Elizabeth Kingston, President of the CIC National Capital Branch will moderate this panel of experts.

In November, the CIC National Capital Branch hosted the inaugural conference for Foreign Policy By Canadians (FPBC) with five panels on Global Heath featuring several high ranking government officials and senior scientists from Africa, Europe and North America. A wide range of participants from different parts of the world took part in this event. Other FPBC related topics—Security, Prosperity and Human Dignity—were addressed in similar conferences, hosted by CIC branches across the country in 2020/21. Building on the FPBC conferences, in March and April, the CIC conducted a unique survey to discuss Canada’s foreign policy priorities based on an innovative deliberative democracy polling methodology—the first national deliberation exercise held in Canada—that was developed at Stanford University. It is within this context that the CIC National Capital Branch decided to dedicate its 2021/22 inaugural experts panel event to the topic of Canadian diplomacy’s past, present and future.
