Fardeen, last name withheld for security concerns, grew up in Afghanistan and began working for the US Military as an interpreter at the age of 17.
Seven years later he became an American citizen and joined the military himself and his parents followed a short time later.
The rest of his family has been working on securing the proper paperwork to leave the country and be reunited since 2018.
With the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan, Fardeen is now worried about the safety of his 11 family members who are in Kabul now trying to escape.
