My intent was to discuss my how my Formation had improved and Tips for those learning formation. Unfortunately I will need to make a new Formation because I mainly talked about my new 5760 x 1080 3 screen setup and how it maps into the my 1920x 1080 OBS stream/record settings. To do all these justice in the future I will make another video on:
MISTAKES:
1) I said 270 knots when I meant lead is flying at 370 knots then speeds up to 380ish knots after they descendd.
2) I forgot to finish a sentence.... I meant most of my flying since flight school { I change subjects} has been head staring straight ahead in the cockpit due to old technolgy Flight Sims. The intent was I need to relearn to look around now that I have head tracking and multimonitors.
3)I just watched this and I am not satisfied with how blurry the main screen is. My thoughts where to resize it to even multiples of 1080. That would have the main screen at 1528x864 and the 3 lower screens at 382 x 216. The side main screens then would be 192 x 864 and on the side screens again I will distort the aspect ratio so the top sides show about 1/3 of a monitor. Hopefully keeping the numbers even divisors of 1920 x 1080 will make it clearer.
NOTE: What I see will flying is 5760 x 1080 with the side monitors offset to adjust for viewing angle and the moniter 1/3" bezel. The Horizons meet across all three monitors due to the offset. My DCS monitor setupfile has an easy way to adjust this which i will share in a later video. My hope is recreate my flying experience as accurately as possible for you.
- Formation in the F5e (a very hard plane formation fly)
- Formation in a easier plane to fly (maybe the F-18)
- My 3 screen setup & include my file to offset monitor locations
- How I mapped the DCS output of 5760 x 1080 to youtube/twitch 1920 x 1080 without letter boxing (I found very little OBS advice on this subject).
