2. Introduction to GIS – Definitions – Components of GIS – Types of Data – Scales/Levels of Measurement – Spatial Data Models – Raster Data Structures – Vector Data Structures – Raster and Vector Models – TIN, DEM etc.

3. Projections – Map Coordinate Systems – UTM and UPS references – Coordinate Transformations
