The dynastic Kim family that has run the purportedly socialist state since Kim Il-sung took power in 1946 has worked hard to keep the outside world out. And their most closely held secrets? The current ruler, Kim Jong-un, would have outside observers believing that the DPRK is building a mighty arsenal of weaponry, but the reality doesn’t always match the propaganda that comes out of the notoriously restrictive nation.
