Queen Elizabeth II was traveling to London in preparation for the kickoff of her Platinum Jubilee. But the monarch had a mid-air scare when a lighting storm caused some drama. Storms forced Her Majesty’s plane to abort its landing as she flew into London from her getaway in Scotland. The plane had to circle round the airport for 15 minutes. Once the storm subsided, the queen’s plane had a smooth landing and she was driven back to Windsor Castle in the rain.
