Russia is developing a top secret new hypersonic missile

According to the pro-Kremlin Izvestia, tests on the arm codenamed Ostrota, or Sharpness, will begin next year.
The announcement comes just one day after Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to 'knock the teeth out of' foreign adversaries.
According to pro-Kremlin news outlet Izvestia, the latest missile will be used by supersonic Tu-22M3 bombers and Su-34 fighter bombers to 'break through any existing air defence systems.'
Russia's non-nuclear defences are expected to be modernised with the latest small-scale hypersonic missiles.
Experts claim they will maintain Russia's 'leading role in this area of high-tech style arms' and deliver 'irresistible blows' to highly-defended targets.
Izvestia announced that a ramjet engine was designed specifically for the upcoming super-high-speed rocket.
The discovery of the device comes as Putin steps up his efforts to outmanoeuvre the West in terms of military might.
The first of four final tests of Russia's Zircon hypersonic missile, which debuted in October of last year, will take place in June.
According to reports, Putin sees the missile as his preferred tool for attacking American cities in the event of a nuclear war.
According to Russia's TASS news agency, the first test of the Zircon missile from the frigate Admiral Gorshkov under the state trials programme is scheduled for June.
The Biden administration lifted sanctions on Nord Stream 2 this week in an effort to repair ties with Germany, which will benefit from the pipeline.
There have been concerns that the project would weaken European Union member states by growing their reliance on Moscow.
The exemptions have no set expiration date and can be revoked by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at any time.
