This plane was a welcome delight at the SBAC Farnborough Air Show in 1950, where despite enormous size, it left the ground with ease and then made a gentle flypast before making a short landing. What really stole the show, meanwhile, was when it came to a complete stop and reversed back down the runway, much to the amazement of the gathered industry VIPs and onlookers. That's because very few plans could reverse back then, and seeing a large freight aircraft do so was a sight to behold.
