This video explains and analyzes two poems from the great poet Wang Wei. The first poem is in the title of A Spectacle of Hunting or 观猎. Filled with striking imageries and organized with excellent pace, this poem reads like an action-packed short film. The second poem is called An Autumn Evening at my Mountain Side Estate. The poem paints a peaceful picture of the pleasant life enjoyed by his fellow villagers. The great Song Dynasty Poet Su Shi 苏轼praised Wang Wei’s poetry stating, “Savouring on Wang Wei’s poetry, it has the quality of a painting; Viewing Wang Wei’s painting, it has poetical beauty!” Although we don’t have Su Shi’s fortune to view Wang Wei’s paintings, his poetry is also a feast for the eye!!
