What engines does the F 16 Fighter Falcon use?
The aircraft is powered by a single engine, the General Electric F110 GE 129 or Pratt and Whitney F100 PW 229. The fuel supply is equipped with an inert gas anti-fire system. An inflight refuelling probe is installed in the top of the fuselage.

Lockheed Martin completed developmental flight testing on new conformal fuel tanks for the F 16, which will significantly add to the aircraft’s mission radius. The first flight of the F 16 equipped with the new tanks was in March 2003. Greece is the launch customer for the CFT.
