What happens when the government refuses to release an official clarification on their dealings? It results in assumptions and counter assumptions that suit the storyteller. Area 51 is one spot we may never fully grasp because it is shrouded in intense secrecy. It is a bad idea to storm a military post in the guise of an investigation, but there are other ways to find the truth. I know your ears are itchy to know about this military base, and I'm here to feed your curiosity.
Origin of Area 51?
In the early 1950s, U.S. planes were conducting low-flying missions over the Soviet Union. While they did this, they worried they'd get caught and their plans aborted. In 1954, President Eisenhower approved project aquatone, a top-secret high-altitude recon aircraft. The program required a team to set up a remote location inaccessible by civilians or spies. Area 51 was the perfect place. The expanse is in the Nevada desert near a salt flat called Groom lake. We don't know precisely why it is called Area 51, but it may not be unconnected with its proximity to the Nevada Nuclear test sites. The location was familiar territory for the military and served as World War II aerial gunnery range.
In the summer of 1955, people said they saw unidentifiable flying objects around the area. This could be true because the Air force had begun testing the U-2 aircraft. These aircraft fly as high as 60,000 feet when regular airlines fly at only 10,000-20,000 feet range. Therefore, if a pilot spotted something high, they wouldn't know what that is even if they strain their eyes. Although the Air Force officials knew the UFO sightings were U-2 tests, they didn't tell the public. Instead, they said it was high-altitude weather research or a natural phenomenon.
Although the testing ended in the late 1950s, Area 51 still served as a testing ground for famous aircraft like TACIT BLUE, A-12, and F-1171. After several years of denying, the U.S. government officially acknowledged the existence of the site in 2013. That year, the national security archive obtained a classified document that chronicled the history of the U-2 spy plane. According to the report, the remote site was used to test the spy plane and subsequent aircraft. It also accounted for all the UFO sightings at the time.
Is Area 51 an unrevealed haven?
Regardless of what I say here, there are tons of unexplainable mysteries within this geographical location—the secrecy surrounding its existence births numerous conspiracy theories. One of them is that the U.S. government is developing new technology and cannibalizing extraterrestrial spaceships at the base. Another school of thought says that there are aliens in the compound collaborating with the U.S. government in developing alien technology for military purposes.
Another factor that reinforces the secrecy of Area 51 is the level of security there. The perimeter is patrolled by security guards armed to the teeth. They patrol the location with Humvees, SUVs, and pickup trucks. Although they do not use excessive force on civilians, they may do that if their instructions are not strictly adhered to. Typically, the guards inform the Lincoln Country Sheriff when a civilian is approaching the perimeter. You could pay as high as $600 and penalty if you breach their law. Even reporters and photojournalists can also be fined when they penetrate the location. Even if they manage to take pictures or film the place, the FBI agents confiscate their cameras and force them to delete them. Most of what is known about Area 51 is told by former workers.
Common Theories about Area 51
Apart from the secrecy surrounding this place, people say that they usually see lights around the site at night. Many spectators say the light may have emanated from aliens' aircraft because the light moves contrary to aerodynamic laws. Here's what some former employees had to say about area 51:
Bob Lazar
Bob Lazar became a famous whistleblower in 1989 when he spoke up about some happenings in this secret post. He was a former staff who worked on extraterrestrial aircraft. He told George Knapp that he worked with a team that manufactured alien flying discs. One day, he examined one of the flying saucers' interior and noticed that the chairs were smaller than usual. It resembled something designed for persons smaller than humans. Atomic element 115 served as the fuel, and the mass of the component on each aircraft weighed two kilograms. In another interview, he said he had seen two laboratory scientists talking to a little green man.
