Only the top 5% of Navy pilots make it to the ‘Top Gun’ program, where they face 12-hour days, 6-7 day weeks, for 3 months straight. Some lessons are in a classroom, but most take place in a fighter jet, where dogfighting skills are honed at MACH-1.
